“Inflammation is one of the priorities of our research strategy,” notes Steven Kunkel, Ph.D., chief scientific officer for Michigan Medicine and executive vice dean for research at the Medical School. “From our work in cellular and molecular mechanisms, to our novel animal models, to our diverse patient populations for translational research, we bring a powerful arsenal to bear on learning how inflammation impacts a wide variety of diseases. I'm excited to welcome Dr. Holland to U-M and engage in a dialogue about this key area of research.”
