2022 Orientation for Clinical Investigators: Session 1

The Clinical Trials Support Office's Orientation for Clinical Investigators is a two-session series that provides faculty with information about the U-M clinical research infrastructure. Attendees will review the scope of their PI role and responsibilities, and learn about the offices, units, and departments that support investigators and the clinical research enterprise. 

This year’s series is a hybrid event with in-person and virtual attendance options and is free for all attendees. Light refreshments will be provided. 

This seminar is for faculty new to the institution or new to clinical research, or for those needing a refresher on navigating the system. 

Session 1 will cover PI Roles & Responsibilities and include a presentation by Grant Comer, M.D., Anna Lok, M.D., as well as Diane Wilson and David Mulder from the Office of Regulatory Affairs.

Session 2 focuses on what you need to know as you get started on a clinical research project at U-M. Attendees will hear from a colleague who will share their early experience as a researcher at Michigan Medicine. Other topics will address the process for grants and sponsored project initiation and management.
