Regenerative Medicine

Photo-microscopy of cellular regeneration

Each year more than 28,000 people receive an organ transplant, and there are currently over 100,000 people in the U.S. on the waiting list.

Faculty the U-M are breaking new ground in the stem cell and regenerative research that can ultimately revolutionize the way patients benefit from organ transplants. We offer world-class depth and breadth in cellular, developmental, cancer, and reparative biology with centers focusing on different aspects of regenerative medicine including the Center for Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research, the Center for Organogenesis, the Taubman Research Institute, and the Center for Stem Cell Biology.
