Teri Grieb, Ph.D., Appointed Associate Dean for Research Strategy

Teri A. Grieb, Ph.D.At their December meeting, the U-M Board of Regents approved the appointment of Teri A. Grieb, Ph.D., as the Associate Dean for Research Strategy in the Medical School effective December 1. Dr. Grieb’s faculty appointment is in the Department of Anesthesiology, as a research assistant professor.  She has been the Senior Director for Research in the Office of Research since 2010 and the Managing Director, Michigan Institute for Clinical Health Research (MICHR) from 2010-2016.

In this new role, Dr. Grieb will provide expanded strategic, tactical, and operational leadership of the research enterprise across the academic medical center of the University of Michigan. She is a recognized expert in the application of business and change management principles, as they relate to the operations of academic biomedical research.

Dr. Grieb received her Ph.D. degree from the Genetics Program at George Washington University, and after several positions in the corporate biomedical arena, joined the University of Michigan in 2006 as an Industry Research Liaison. She has received multiple awards for her service activities across the University of Michigan, recognizing her innovation, productivity, and leadership insight necessary to face the challenges that confront our research enterprise.
