Standing Together Against Racism

April 21, 2021
Diversity Equity and InclusionMichigan Medicine leadership recently issued the statement that “we unequivocally recognize racism as a public health issue and we stand together against bias and inequality.”

Here at the Medical School Office of Research, we whole-heartedly endorse this message and the institutional strategy and actions required to take on and defeat racism. Michigan Medicine and the university are adding new tools and resources every day to foster culture change, and we encourage you to connect with the Michigan Medicine Office of Counseling and Workplace Resilience if you are struggling with issues of racism and how it impacts your personal and professional life.

Racism has no place in the Medical School Office of Research. As current events unfold across the country, and the fall-out of the pandemic continues to contribute to anxiety at both a personal and community level, we continue to be committed to nurturing an environment of compassion and inclusion that ultimately helps us fulfill our mission to support research and improve the lives of patients.
