Revised Central Biorepository Informed Consent Template and Information Pamphlet

The Central Biorepository (CBR) has released new versions of the informed consent template and informational pamphlet required for use in prospective biorepository collections programs using the CBR. All newly onboarded CBR projects will be directed to use these templates at the outset of the study. For those who are already using existing consent and pamphlet templates, please switch to the new versions when you submit your continuing review or your next amendment.

Changes include updated language regarding possible uses of biospecimens – referencing possible uses in ancestry and in understanding genetic contributions to disease. Some language was also updated for better harmonization to regulatory standards. Links to the new templates can be found on the IRBMED and CBR websites, as well as on Research A-Z.
