Medical study coordinator using a tablet to talk to a patientResearch Scouts Sarah Hawley, Ph.D., and Megan Haymart, M.D., affiliated with the Patients First Innovation Initiative, have announced a new funding opportunity. Research Scouts is part of the Great Minds, Greater Discoveries research strategic plan and managed by the Medical School Office of Research.

As part of Research Scouts, the Patients First team is looking to fund bold, patient-centered research projects – ideas that address topics of key interest to patients. They are particularly interested in funding early-stage ideas for patient-centered behavioral intervention research.

The Patients First team will offer three $50,000 awards. CLICK HERE to submit your idea via the Research Scouts portal. Anyone with a primary appointment (with effort) in the Medical School is eligible for funding.

Portal submissions will be reviewed by the Patients First team on an ongoing basis, and they may reach out to discuss the details of your idea. Visit the Research Scouts website for more information about the program, including a detailed FAQ.
