Starting in September 2018, The Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research (MICHR) will offer Research Basics training online and will be replacing parts of the current in-person training. The new online portions will soon be freely available, anytime, anywhere with internet access. The training will remain an interactive learning experience for study team members to engage with fundamental concepts in research and practice basic skills, but now they can do so at their own pace, when and where they need the training.
The transition will be gradual, with the Fundamentals of Data Management session offered exclusively as an online module beginning in September. The other two sessions, Essential Documents & Good Clinical Practice and Conducting and Obtaining Valid Informed Consent, will still be offered in-person in September. After that, both Fundamentals of Data Management and Best Practices for Clinical Research: GCP and Essential Documents will be exclusively available online. Conducting and Obtaining Valid Informed Consent will continue as an in-person session to be offered periodically.
Study team members can access the Research Basics online modules in My LINC using their level-1 password. MICHR continues to welcome study team questions about research fundamentals or individual studies at any time.
