R01 Boot Camp Kick-Off

R01 Boot Camp kicked off its fifth year on January 18, with 24 new mentees, 11 returning mentees, and 9 senior faculty coaches. On February 13, we hosted John Robertson, Ph.D., of Grant Writers' Seminars & Workshops for the all-day "Write Winning NIH R01 Proposals" workshop. We opened the event up to non-Boot Camp attendees this year and promptly sold out the workshop at Palmer Commons.
 
Heading into its fifth year, the R01 Boot Camp has brought in more than 40 new R01 grants, with 46 R01 proposals still pending. Since 2013, mentees have been awarded more than 160 external awards as PIs, to total more than $106 million in new research funding, that they attribute to their Boot Camp experience.
