New Medical Director for Heart, Vessel, Blood CTSU

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Keith Aaronson has accepted the appointment as Medical Director of the Heart Vessel Blood (HVB) Clinical Trials Support Unit (CTSU) as of July 1, 2019. Dr. Aaronson is the Bertram Pitt, MD Collegiate Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, Professor of Internal Medicine – Cardiovascular Division, Medical Director of the Cardiac Transplant Service and Center for Circulatory Support, and Co-Director of the Heart Failure and Transplant Management Program. Dr. Aaronson has extensive experience in NIH and industry-funded clinical research. He also has many years of successful leadership experience. We are delighted to have him lead the HVB CTSU in this exciting new chapter.
Dr. Vallerie McLaughlin has worked tirelessly in the last three years to lay a strong foundation for the HVB CTSU. We greatly appreciate her dedication to the unit and her support of the Clinical Trials Transformation initiative. Dr. McLaughlin will stay on as Associate Medical Director for six months to ensure a stable transition.
