Medical School Office of Research Releases 2018 Annual Report

2018 Research Annual ReportCentral campus recently announced that once again the University of Michigan is the #1 public university in research spending in the United States in 2018, at $1.55 billion. And the Medical School was responsible for nearly half of those research expenditures. The UMMS Office of Research has released a first-ever Medical School Research Annual Report highlighting this milestone, and other metrics for 2018.

“As we embark on 2019 and the limitless possibilities it holds, our continued success is interdependent on the tremendous depth and breadth of the scientific interests and the curiosity and talents of our research community,” notes Steve Kunkel, Ph.D., Senior Associate Dean for Research and Interim Chief Scientific Officer.  “Thank you for your efforts in 2018, as we all work to pursue discoveries that advance science and improve health for people not just in Michigan, but across the United States and around the world.”
