Clinical Research Studies Migrating to OnCore; MBECT to Sunset
Starting in June, Michigan Budget Enrollment Calendar Tool (MBECT) will begin to be sunset. MBECT runs on a platform that will no longer be supported after the end of this year due to security reasons. As a result, all studies (with billable items and services, ie. routable charges in MiChart) currently residing in MBECT must be moved to OnCore. These and select new studies, determined on a case by case basis, will now be supported administratively and receive some level of post-award support from the Clinical Trials Support Office.
For clinical research studies that are not designated by CRAO as billing calendar exempt, participant enrollment in OnCore will be necessary to meet billing compliance requirements. There are no fees assessed to the migrated studies, and finance administration will follow the current model based on the structure of the funding.
After June 1, 2019, qualifying new research studies should be submitted to the Clinical Trials Support Office through the CTSU Intake Form. Current studies managed in MBECT will be migrated to OnCore by November 1, 2019. CTSO/CTSU Leadership will reach out to impacted study teams with additional information.
Study teams, department research administrators, and anyone else hoping to learn more are invited to attend an MBECT Sunset Kick-Off. Details below:
