Call for Nominations & Applications: Associate Vice President for Research

The University of Michigan Office of Research (UMOR), whose mission is to catalyze, support and safeguard U-M research, is seeking applications and nominations for two faculty to serve in associate vice president for research positions. These positions will serve on the Office of Research Leadership Team, which oversees and sets the overall strategy for UMOR and its various academic and service operations. The two positions are:
- Associate Vice President for Research—Social Sciences, Humanities, and Arts
- Interim Associate Vice President for Research—Health Sciences

In general, each position will support the Vice President for Research by serving as a liaison with schools, colleges, institutes and centers involved in scholarly and creative activities in their fields; leading task forces; studying policy issues and resolving problems; supporting the development of new interdisciplinary initiatives by working with campus leaders; providing oversight of select research units in the U-M Office of Research; coordinating and participating in the evaluation of proposals; leading the evaluation of research faculty appointments and promotions; and by developing strategy and support for national and international research partnerships.
