Brighton Center Research Pharmacy Now Supporting Wider Portfolio of Investigational Products
The Clinical Trials Support Office is happy to announce that the Research Pharmacy will now be able to support a wider portfolio of investigational products at Brighton Center. Previously, Research Pharmacy has been supporting infusion and oral doses from Ann Arbor campus sent in a ready-to-administer or ready-to-dispense form.
As of October 21, 2019, the Brighton Infusion Pharmacy Team now has the capabilities to mix and dispense investigational products for studies that have sponsor permission to transport vials in bulk, in advance, via courier, to Brighton Center. We are partnering with the Study Coordinator at the Brighton Center to assess and implement studies that meet this criterion. A Research Pharmacy Technician is available on-site to support this effort.
As a reminder, all research involving investigational products that are either administered or dispensed at the Brighton Center must be managed by the Research Pharmacy in conjunction with the pharmacy staff on site. Further expansion of Brighton Center Research Pharmacy services will be announced in mid-2020.
Each clinical trial must be assessed individually by the Research Pharmacy to assure that it is suitable for activation BEFORE any patient is scheduled for treatment or to receive investigational products at the Brighton Center.
To begin a Research Project at the Brighton Center, visit the clinic’s internal website and select “Submit a BCSC Clinical Trial Intake Form” in the right-side navigation panel, then complete and submit the form. Once the Brighton team receives your intake form, they will review information of that trial for feasibility. If your study meets all criteria, you will be contacted regarding next steps.
